I have the specimens in hand and I would be happy to share them with you to help confirm there identity. The stems seem very long and narrow for Cantharellus californicus to me. Also there were no oaks in the vicinity only Redwoods.

has yet to be confirmed from Santa Cruz County, and although the bright, slender fruitbodies are suggestive of C. formosus, we need more information to confirm this. Do you have specimens you could share with us?

Interestingly, one other collection potentially assigned to this species was also made at Henry Cowell.

Currently the southernmost records of C. formosus are in Marin County.
