Observation 19702: Helvella lacunosa group
When: 2009-03-20
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

This specimen was growing in reddish soil (is that pedalfer) outside the root zone of trees. It appears to be infected with a hypomyces. I had observed this specimen several days before I went back to photograph it and at that time it didn’t have the white coating. There were many other specimens in the area, but apparently all but this one had been eaten by the resident Roosevelt elk herd.
