Gym. Jun. likely do not grow in California

Unless it had green staining I’d suggest it was Gym. Ventricosus. To my knowledge those “G. Junonius” found in the west coast are inactive. Being that Ventricosus is virtually identical physically excepting its missing green staining (being inactive) and lives in the west coast. It’s likely that people have been finding and mislabeling the Ventricosus as inactive Junonius. Just a thought.
