Observation 19743: Agaricales sensu lato
When: 2008-10-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This fruiting body was growing in a cave from either bat guano or rat scat. The mushroom was positioned within the dark zone / twilight zone interface. The limestone surface around the mushroom was damp but not outwardly wet. The entire structure was less than 1cm in height. I have been advised that it represents an “aborted mushroom” but I was hoping someone might recognize it and provide some form of taxonomic resolution.
