under overhang of quartzite; rocky broad northwestern ridge of summit, geology a mixture of siliceous metamorphic rocks; on broad ridge about 0.4 miles northwest of west peak (about 75m west of main peak)

algae in perithecia, thallus of deeply cracked pale brown areoles with constricted bases, epruinose, perithecia deeply immersed with black ostiole and involucrellum exposed at tip, spores brown muriform ~30×18um
