Observation 199150: Pluteus cervinus group
When: 2014-10-23
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing singly out of the side of a large decayed tree which had fallen but was resting against another tree about 6 feet above the ground. I was surprised to get such a heavy, brightly colored (reddish-pink) spore print from such a small, pallid specimen.

I’ve been struggling to ID this little mushroom since last fall. Really appreciate your looking at my observation and helping me with this identification.
