Observation 199317: Cuphophyllus pratensis var. pallidus (Cooke) Bon

Recognized by sight: I see this thing ten times or so every season – usually a solitary fruitbody each time. Resemble C. pratensis in stature, but almost pure white on all surfaces, with scattered ochre dots or brick-red streaks. I think it’s a different species (not a variant), but for now appears to match var. pallidus prety well.
