Indeed an interesting aspect. This was growing on hardwood. I will contact Priscilla.

your proposal of M. cornuta looks solid, save for the fact that all the specimens studied in Priscila’s monograph were on leaves (more specifically, on scale insects on leaves). this appears to be on wood. that may or may not be taxonomically significant. I would ask for her opinion personally.
