I have uploaded a photo showing multiple others, all cross sections seem to have an upper white section.

The white part is very interesting, I am not seeing any reference to it in the descriptions. They all say the context is uniform, usually a dark brown.

Not enough people include cross sections in their observations for Ganoderma, but it is one very important feature. Thank you!

I still think based on the overall morphology that G.brownii is a good guess. Perhaps the white band appears in younger specimens but gradually dissapears, Can you post cross sections of the others as well?
