No universal veil.

Giuliana. Please see the comment I made previously. I’m asking about a UNIVERSAL VEIL. Not a partial veil (annulus). There appears to be a ridge of tissue around the stipe (near the base). Thanks!

for posting images of this bolete, Giuliana! The 2nd image appears to show a remnant of a universal veil. Would that be correct? If so, this is noteworthy because there are very few boletes (excluding several_Suillus_ spp.) that exhibit this feature (see Obs #22385).
