Observation 200198: Sticta marginifera (Mont.) Nyl.
When: 2015-03-05

Notes: Small regular shaped purple Lichen/Fern? growing on dead wood and decaying bark on dead tree trunk. Underside of specimen also shown. This is not a common growth as far as I am aware.

Hi Jason I ordered the book you mentioned, but have to wait as although they said it was available (and took my money) it is being reprinted .

Is there anything wrong with the specimens I have photographed?
Did I ever try to modify their appearance by any mean?
But, the truth is that after sometime I had to refrain myself of posting more Sticta specimens, because that would not seem real, such is the abundance at some of the places I visited.

Yes, Sticta is pretty uncommon most places in the world. (Ignore all the specimens zaca posts, he’s just trying to make us feel jealous. ;)
