The observation took place in an old woodland.
Finaly, after several attempts, the species M. lentiginosa appeared. Its thallus developed in the middle of the thalli of a Graphis, on one side, and of a Phaeographis, on the other side, with no apparent parasitizing connexion. The (mature) spores are (brown) 1-septate, sole-shaped and small (11-14.5 × 5.5). The asci present an apical beak, characteristic of the genus.
