Terrestrial in mixed woods. Oak, Maple, Birch, Hemlock. Densely hairy caps with purplish gills and shaggy white stipe with white mycelium. No young specimens available to check for purplish rhizoides. No taste, odor or spore print taken, but gills seem to be dusted with white spores
