Observation 200711: Polyporus arcularius (Batsch) Fr.
When: 2015-03-19

Notes: Growing in grassy strip next to dirt road. 3 large Sweet Gum trees about 10 feet away. Appeared to be growing in soil in grass, but when I dug it up it was attached with dark roots to broken piece of wood buried in ground.

Cap – 3 cm across

Hymenium – White. Appears to be a cross between cross-gilled and radial pores. Comes down the stem ( see photo). Not sure how to describe – see photos.

Stipe – 3.5 cm long. Width of stem narrowest at center, 3 mm at top, 2 mm center, 4 mm at base. Felt firm, not hollow. I did not split.

Spore Print – white, slightly cream color.
