Cladonia cornuta is either unbranched or at most two branches. Thus, C. subulata is a better option. Thanks, Jason, for your comment.

I think C. cornuta doesn’t usually branch this often

Have you considered C. subulata? It usually has one or two branches like this. I think the chemistry is the same (fumarprotocetraric acid only).
