been calling this thing by the wrong name?
How does M. subpulverulenta differ from M. excissa?

EDIT:
See if you can get a shot of the cystidia.

excissa: Cystidia distinctly septate, swollen at base with a a narrow projection (urticoid) in overall shape.

subpulverulenta: cylindrical-clavate, pointed, not septate

Both have crystals at the tip, but maybe more in subpulverulenta?

Maybe also coarseness of ornamentation? Illustration of excissa in MycoKey seemed pretty sparsely warted.
