Fruiting beneath oak trees in decorative neighborhood bark/moss.
Skirt like vulva(tight), dark brown pellicle skin, patches somewhat attached, universal veil.
Odor and taste: sweet, cold, meaty and pleasantly fungaloid. Once dried the odor begins to turn a bit like “wet dog, more musty.”
Collected near entrance to Hospital campus.
Temp: mid 60’s, raining.
Elevation: Sea level-approx.
IMAGES TAKEN ON COUNTER IN HOSPITAL AFTER HARVESTING: In situ photos were a little risky due to hospital security and regular leery eyed onlookers around substrate.
