Thallus and medulla: K-;
Spores: Mostly 3-septate with
(13.6) 14.8 – 17.3 (20.5) x (6.4) 6.5 – 7.9 (8) µm
Q = (1.9) 2 – 2.5 (2.8) ; N = 30
Me = 16 × 7.2 µm ; Qe = 2.2.

A few mature submuriform spores were observed. The British Flora says for D. alboatrum: “(Ascospores) mostly submuriform at maturity”, while such features is not mentioned for D. hedinii. Therefore, the classification is a bit uncertain.
