Notes: Normally I would call this applanatum, however I recently saw another very similar observation on Mushroom Observer that was suggested that it was this.

this is the type of ganoderma I find fairly regularly here in japan, or similar.. not knowing any better I thought of it as appalatum (sp?) the red waxy one i’ve found once, growing up out of rocks and boulders overlaying rotting tree roots (oak). tastes good as a tea, not bitter, very pleasant….
