Observation 202441: Jahnoporus hirtus (Quél.) Nuss
When: 2015-04-07
No herbarium specimen

Notes: At first I thought this Polyporus badius growing out of the ground but when I got the photo home I noticed the pubescent edge of the cap. The stipe was tough. From the photo I am now not sure if it was a polyporus, last year’s hydnellum or an old bolete (I highly doubt the later). Habitat was silty soil, grass and pine.
