Notes: Growing on the ground under conifer.

We ate these and they were very good.

Many of the original collections of Pluteus orestes were identified in the field as Pluteus petasatus

pale colors + on conifer wood/litter + geographic location all point to P. orestes.

If you collect it again microscopic characters separate both species easily

At least now we know it is edible :)

Both the habitat and the location suggest Pluteus orestes
