Observation 202754: Tulostoma polymorphum Long

Notes: Sandy soil under Az cypress, pine and manzanita at about 5000’ elevation. Gregarious—40 plus individuals. Spore sac up to 18 mm wide by 15 mm high, firmly attached to stem by conspicuous socket. Exoperidium hyphal, encrusted with sand. White endoperidium. Mouth irregular to denticulate. Stem 5 cm x 4mm, woody, basal mass. Ochre spore deposit.
