When: 2015-04-21

Collection location: Umstead State Park, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA [Click for map]

Who: Geoff Balme (geoff balme)

No specimen available

Kind of dry, text says Mycena leaiana fade with age, and these were not yellow. Also not directly on a log. Also, allow me to add: These are tiny caps, the biggest about 0.5".

Early in the year and not very fulvescent for sullivantii, and iirc, there are several similar species.

Thank you, Sir! Looking into this genus now. I’m starting to feel like there are a good handful of possibilities for the photos. Field IDs tricky on some of these.

Thank you!

but now I’m feeling insecure about that. I didn’t notice any staining when I handled them. And they aren’t as faded as the text says they become in age.
