When: 2015-04-11
(32.5291° -94.7233° )
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Spore Measurements – TBD

Dark Purple-brown spore print

Growing from wood alongside a very rotten log. I think the log was hardwood.

Small buttons show cortina.

Caps – mature cap about 2.5 inches across. Lined on outer 1/4 due to gills. Caps felt soft and flexible. Smooth on top. I could see bits of PV along edges.

Gills – crowded. Pale at first stained by spore as at maturity. Stems, length 2-3 times the cap diameter.

Stems – flexible, hollow, fibrous, soft.

Smell – mild, mushroom.

Bruising – none observed.

Liquids – none observed upon bruising and tearing.
