Mossy base of trunk of old Nothofagus in deep montane forest.
Characterized by narrow, thick, pale greenish-gray, smooth, loose/ascending lobes; white medulla and pale yellow pseudocyphellae below; brown to pale tomentum covering lower surface; laminal apothecia common; black pycnidia also not uncommon, visible as tiny black dots scattered on upper surface.
