I find these specimen somewhat unusual:

the pustules on some of the thalli are not like pustules but more like tubercules (although the two words probably mean the same) – sticking like “sore thumbs” out of the lichen body, and the cracks between projections are canyon-like under the microscope. But only some thalli are like that – it can be seen in the photos – and others are “normal”.
