Notes: Found growing with madrone trees in the 2008 bonny dune burn. We walked for hours and hours and only found 20. Then we found a 200 square yard area that had thousands of morels and a whole lot of big madrone trees. We picked until sunset and didn’t get nearly all of them.

thats awesome guys, what an amazing experience.
that tops half the deer ive found on my mushroom hunts, usually they are well into decomposition.
At first I thought it was dead but it was breathing, apparently when they are real young they just sit there and wait for their mother to come back. If it objected to our presence it didn’t show it.
that baby deer alright? doesnt look like he moved much while you re-positioned the camera.
Debbie, you must know that it takes a lot and a load of time to upload ’em all ;)
where’s the other 985 photos of the rest of those morels???! ;)
