and AscoFrance members and top authorities on this group of fungi are in favor of not jumping to naming conclusions when dealing with macro photographs of something indistinguishable from a dozen or more lookalikes without microscopic characters. “Laymen” and field guides would do well to follow suit. The alternative is to be deliberately wrong.
