I have always manage to resist the temptation of poking slime molds with a stick :) It does not do the photo any good.
for seeing this; you can produce this damage with your fingers too. Or with a small stick, a needle or something similar.
I find it interesting to see this rain damage never seen it my self but this is the second photo I have seen with this happening.
