Although this isnt spruce, this was the recent pine cone mushroom I found. I lifer for me.

I used to study mushrooms on conifer cones at university.
Strobilurus esculentus is also common mushroom on spruce cones in Japan!

Now I’m checking every spruce cone I find… ;)
