Observation 204421: Amanita sect. Lepidella sensu Bas

Amanita……. Found in total shade from rainforest canopy. Soil damp. Single specimen only located in good condition. Dried Specimen available. Some veil flakes falling away from pileus and on ground and surrounding debris. Cap displaying some warts. No markings on stipe, but stipe has uneven irregular surface.

We have recieved this material and it has been accessioned to Rod’s herbarium. We are scheduling it for DNA sequencing.

I’d certainly like to see dried material.

Yellow Gills

I thought that also. Can send it over for you if it is a worthwhile save for you. Have added a RAW file unedited, for comparison for the colours. The exposure in the edited images (previously loaded.), has not changed the colour of the gills. The original image was taken in very low light without any flash. kk

The yellow gills seem very distinctive.
