Observation 204756: Panaeolus foenisecii (Pers.) J. Schröt.

When: 2015-05-20

Collection location: University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dan Molter (shroomydan)

No specimen available

I stumbled upon a very large patch of these meaty LBMs in the lawn of one of the main admin buildings on campus as I was walking home from school last night. You can see a black spore print on one of the caps, but the two proper spore prints I made turned out very dark brown. I collected fifty or so, but given the spore prints it is probably a mixed collection.

I arrived on campus around 7 this morning to have a another look. I was just in time to see a super-sized industrial lawn mower decimate the patch.
