Observation 205171: Macrolepiota Singer
When: 2007-06-06
No herbarium specimen

Notes: A nice cloudy day of June learning about orchids and trying to save endangered species we stumbled upon these very large mushrooms right in the middle of a small open field close to the cliff edge. We do not know which mushroom it is. Hope the pix help.

I guess Macrocybe is the best option yet

I will keep trying to find a species just like the one in the picture in the following days. It has been raining a bit more, which is great but I can’t go out during the thunder storms so that is slowing me down too.

Checking some local data I have been considering Psilocybe cubensis, what do you think?
It was a pasture area.

Nice find! I bet it’s a Macrocybe, but we would need to see a closer picture
to have a better idea.

Thanks for posting so much from Costa Rica, nice photos.
