…is one of the first boletes to pop up in the NJ Pine Barrens along with the pine-loving Leccinum sp. and the NA version of Imleria badia. In the past I collected them as early as the second half of May. This May was very dry, and yet we managed to found some leccinum. I think Dario’s mushroom is indeed T. felleus.

Looks like T. felleus.
