Lepiota, Agaricaceae, Agaricales. (Чешуйчатка).

Whitish fragile mushroom with a ring at stalk and unpleasant odor.

Cap: 4-8cm, whitish and smooth when young, bell-shaped or convex, then broadly convex with indistinct scales and gentle light-brown or yellowish-white knob; small remnants of veil along margin. Odor is somewhat carbolic acid or bad soap.
Flesh is white and fragile.
Gills: close, almost free (attached with a pinching out end), narrow, minor middle wide, white up to yellowish-white or dull cream when died.
Stalk: 6-10cm long, 0.7-1.4cm thick, some silky and hollow with a ring at upper 1/3; white up to light gray when old; small bulbous base.
Habitat: small groups scattered in grass near edge of pine-tree forest with some elm (Ulmus densa) and maple (Acer negúndo).
Edibility: probably poisonous because unpleasant odor.
May – August.
