Observation 205596: Amanita sect. Caesareae Singer
When: 2015-06-03

Notes: I’m thinking this might be A. “sp-S10”. Both specimens were on their way out in terms of constitution, particularly with respect to the volvae, but I did save some material.

I can’t say with …

… any degree of certainty that the cap was more fragile than other Amanitas, but I guess it did seem to break easy while it was stowed. So, in short: a cautious yes.

Amanita arkansana has white gills; so this might be a possibility

Would you say that the cap is particularly fragile?

Very best,

They look white to me. It’s drying now, and I don’t know if it might lose color in the process. I’d call it white though.

What was the color of the sides (faces) of the gills?
