Recognized by sight: Yellow brown depressed cap with wavy purple margin, buff (almost pale yellow not white as they appear in photo) colored decurrent gills, short central scurfy stem, growing from bark-free hardwood log

P. conchatus is promising I think. The fruit body was very tough. It was cloudy so colors were washed out in my photos but the gills were darker than they appear in the photo—more buff colored.
