Observation 205703: Boletus rex-veris Arora & Simonini
When: 2015-05-30
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Fruiting abundantly alongside Ramaria rasilispora, S. coronaria under douglas fir, Alder and maple.

Elevation: 3400ft.

Temp: mid 60’s.

Stalk: bulbous when young, maturing to nearly perfectly straight.

Cap: deep red, dusty hued.

Spore bearing structure: white to light yellow at maturity. B. rex-veris is very similar but tends to be larger, yellow under pore surface when young(green at maturity) and with a more brownish/tan cap.
