Being a real amateur I did not know that this name “bit the dust”. Why am I not surprised. I’ll have to consult with some local experts to find out what we have in Missouri. Looks like most of the names in Kuo’s new book at out of date. Whatever the names are though I sure love finding these treasures in the woods.

in North America. Not sure what golden chanterelle sp. you do have in MO, though.

Regardless of latin name, they are all good edibles.
