Proposed Names

27% (1)
Recognized by sight: similar macroscopically to MO 206153
Based on chemical features: Genetically identical in the sequence obtaine for MO 206153…so far as the sequences overlap…a region of over 480 characters.
61% (2)
Eye3 Eyes3
Based on chemical features: This specimen produced the longest segment from the beginning of the nrLSU sequence. Both the sequences for the other MO observations of the species fit into the sequence we have from this collection.

Having a second specimen of this critter is valuable. Now we have to try to get more nearly complete DNA sequences. Perhaps we will try some different genes next time.

I very much appreciate your photography and collecting efforts.

Very best,

Thank you Rod

We got a strong 5’ (“start” or “left hand” for those reading left to right) end …

…of the nrLSU locus.

The sequence from nrITS (“proposed fungal barcode”) was minimal except that it did provide the initial characters of nrLSU. As noted above, the species seems to be identical to that depicted in MO 206153.

Hoping that we get another shot at this critter.

Thank you, Dario. Very much.

Very best in the new year,

Thanks Dario,

We have recieved this material and it has been accessioned to Rod’s herbarium. We are scheduling it for DNA sequencing.
