Walt, I didn’t check Index Fungorum.

I just went with the info here at MO… that L. subplinthogalus has been depreciated. Just checked IF and the name is still good. But IF also lists L. marylandicus as a valid name, with no synonyms.

MO is not allowing me to create “Lactarius subplinthogalus.”

Both Mycobank and Index Fungorum list Lactarius subplinthogalus as a good species. Neither put it in Synonymy with L. marylandicus but Bessettes et all do. Lactarius subplinthogalus is an old Coker species which would have priority.
So why L. marylandicus?

Dave W THANKS!!!!
