Hemlock stand near a stream.

KOH pinkisk orange on cap. Ammonia negative on cap.

The KOH/ammonia reactions on the cap are a bullseye. Reticulations on ~50% of the stipe also seems to favor inedulis.

Taste bitter… which supports any of the species discussed.

I’ll check the inedulis possibility tomorrow. I had also considered calopus.

I guess the cap color at this stage of development would make Caloboletus inedulis a lesser possibility. Both grow under hemlock. According to the link below B. roseipes has already been transferred to Caloboletus.:
