Observation 207290: Lycoperdon Pers.

When: 2015-06-12

Collection location: Big Thicket, Hardin Co., Texas, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

Specimen available

These were growing on the trail in mixed woods.
Less than 3 cm across.
Spores were brown to olive brown.
Spores were basically round, ~ 3-4 microns, very thinly warted and with minimal pedicels.
Capillitium was mostly long and relatively straight, the photo showing the only branch I found.
These were aged with the top part collapsing on a very rigid sterile base.
They resemble some Bovistellas I could find but spore and capillitium properties did not equate.
