Another collection of pretty little red Russulas that again proved to be not quite like any previous collection and of course almost impossible to put a species tag on them.
Caps small, up to 3 cm across. Striations up to 5 mm long and was able to peel the entire cuticle off of one of them.
No distinctive odor and taste mild.
Spore print creamy and spores amyloid.
Spores ~ 7.0-8.0 X 6.0-7.1 microns, subglobose to broadly ellisoid, with spiny warts up to 0.75 microns and few lines.
They were quite fragile and the flesh was soft and stipe hollow.
