not B. subcaerulescens In europe we called them B. reticulatus (does not mean that this is the right name) at the cross-section does not change color. I think this is “boletus variipes var. reticulatus”

…appears to be wrong for B. subcaerulescens. Seems like a hardwood forest from the pix. Also, it’s not clear if the pores bruise blue.

Cap color

The top one has a really grayish brown dull color. Very unusual for me to see it this way. The third photo down cap color looks typical for the way I usually find them. I fond them with both colors in the cap and with yellowish caps this week. I never saw such a cap color range before. Anyway chemical testing should tell if its that species I think it first flashes blue then turns orange if I remember correctly
