Notes:
Growing on a conifer stump (see picture). Polypore, individuals had a fused base going into a rotted portion of the stump. Smallest one was 3 cm wide X 2 cm across. Largest was 6.5 cm wide X 5 cm across. Typically 0.5 cm thick. Stem/fused base was 2 cm across. Odor: mild, pleasant, similar to Polyporus squamosus with a slightly acrid end note. Taste: soapy but not bitter.
