Notes:
Cap 11 cm. Stipe about 12 cm. Found in soil in oak/hickory woods. Pores beneath developing a slightly pinkish or lavender look. Photos taken on second day after being refrigerated. Found two others of the same species – one being larger and the other smaller.

The answer is NO. I think I will have to continue struggling with identifications without doing that. I am sure that it can be a helpful process.
