The book did NOT lead me astray. It was the only book I have which had something in it which looked like it could be the correct species. Nothing like lots of field experience which you certainly have. The specific name, panuoides, is interesting. I am assuming then that it refers to either Panus or Panellus. So this is a Tapinella which looks similar to a Panus or Panellus. Maybe that is correct. Thanks again.
