Notes: Common to abundant on valley oak (Quercus lobata) bark in semi-arid open woodland rural site. Does not seem to occur on live oak (Quercus agrifolia), but may occur on blue oak (Quercus douglasii).

Thallus white, pruinose on lobe tips, K+Y, apothecia uncommon, pruinose, which black disc, no soredia or isidia, medulla white, K-. Thallus underside pale, with concolorous rhizines, simple to fibrous or squarrose.

See Observation 208029, with which this specimen co-occurs. Could this be Physcia biziana co-occurring with Physcia dimidiata?
