Notes: Notes: See Observation 205616 for discussion of identification. I suspect this is very similar to Cantharellus texensis but an undocumented species. Called Cantharellus texensis for now. This second sample is being placed into the same Herbarium as Observation 205616.
I’ve noticed that there seems to be very closely related species that are slightly different colors but grow in close proximity. In this case I will be putting collections of two different looking patches into a herbarium. Either could be Cantharellus texensis or Cantharellus cinnabarinus or an unidentified species.
This collection was made to include numerous immatures, buttons.
This group was about 10 feet from the previous group and seemed to be a lighter orange, having white highlights on the gills.
